Two-way audio lets you listen through the GALAYOU G7 Wi-Fi and speak through the camera speaker from Wansview Cloud. It is useful for quick check-ins, greeting visitors, or giving short instructions.
[note] Audio controls, labels, and shared-device permissions may vary by app version or account access. [/note]How Two-Way Audio Works

Listening and talking use separate audio paths. When one direction works but the other does not, check the related volume, permission, routing, or connection setting.

Start a Two-Way Conversation

Listen near the camera during a test, or ask someone nearby to confirm that your voice is playing through the camera speaker.
Clear Audio Habits
[dosdonts] Do: Speak close to the phone microphone at a moderate volume. Do: Keep the camera within reliable Wi-Fi coverage. Do: Reduce nearby TV, fan, traffic, or other strong background noise when possible. Do: Keep the camera speaker opening clear of walls and objects. Dont: Shout into the phone microphone, as this can increase distortion. Dont: Place the camera tightly in a corner where sound can echo. Dont: Keep loud camera playback active while speaking in a small reflective room. [/dosdonts]Reduce Echo and Feedback
Echo can happen when the camera speaker plays audio that is picked up again by the camera microphone. Lower the phone volume slightly, speak closer to the phone, and avoid placing the camera near corners or hard reflective surfaces.
Manage Background Noise
Fans, TV audio, traffic, and wind can make speech harder to hear. Reduce nearby noise where possible and avoid placing an outdoor camera in a strongly wind-exposed location.
Phone Settings That Affect Audio
[reference] Title: Microphone Permission Text: Allow microphone access for Wansview Cloud so the Talk control can send your voice. Title: Battery Access Text: Allow the app to run without heavy battery restrictions when the phone provides this option. Title: Media Volume Text: Adjust media volume, not only ringtone volume, when listening to camera audio. Title: Bluetooth Routing Text: Disable Bluetooth temporarily when sound is being sent to an unintended headset or speaker. Title: Calls and Voice Apps Text: Calls, voice chats, music apps, and recorders can temporarily take control of audio input or output. [/reference]Basic Audio Checks
[troubleshoot] Problem: You cannot hear camera audio Cause: The Speaker control may be off, media volume may be low, Bluetooth may be routing output elsewhere, or another app may be using audio. Fix: Enable the Speaker icon, raise media volume, pause Bluetooth for a short test, close active call, music, or voice apps, then test on another available connection. Restart the camera using its normal power method if needed. Problem: The camera cannot hear your voice Cause: Microphone permission may be blocked, the Talk button may require press-and-hold use, or another app may be using the phone microphone. Fix: Enable the Microphone control, hold Talk while speaking, allow microphone access in phone settings, end calls or close voice-recording apps, then close and reopen Wansview Cloud before testing again. Problem: Talking audio cuts out or has a large delay Cause: Wi-Fi coverage, upload capacity, or local network congestion may be limiting live audio. Fix: Test with the camera closer to the router when practical, reduce large uploads or streaming activity, use a smoother live-view mode when available, and consider a nearer mesh node or extender if the test improves. Problem: Audio is quiet or distorted Cause: Phone volume, microphone distance, camera placement, or room echo may affect clarity. Fix: Adjust media volume gradually, speak closer to the phone microphone, confirm the camera speaker is not blocked, and move the camera away from corners or reflective surfaces. Problem: The Talk button or microphone icon is unavailable Cause: Permission, app state, shared-device access, or phone restrictions may limit the control. Fix: Confirm microphone permission, close and reopen the app, clear the app cache in phone settings if needed, update the app when available, restart the phone, and test with the owner account when shared access may limit features. Problem: Audio works on Wi-Fi but not on mobile data Cause: Data Saver, VPN, proxy, private DNS, weak mobile signal, or carrier restrictions may affect the connection. Fix: Temporarily pause VPN, proxy, or private DNS for a connection test, allow unrestricted data access for the app when available, and retry with a stronger mobile signal. [/troubleshoot]Everyday Two-Way Audio Setup
- Use push-to-talk correctly by holding the Talk button for the full message.
- Keep the camera in a location with strong Wi-Fi coverage.
- Speak clearly and close to the phone microphone.
- Avoid placing the camera directly against glass, inside a tight corner, or beside strong noise sources.
- Keep Wansview Cloud and available camera software current for the best compatibility.
Use short messages and leave a brief pause between replies. This makes normal network delay less noticeable during a conversation.[faq] Q: Why can I hear the camera but not speak through it? A: Listening and talking use different audio paths. Check microphone permission, the Microphone or Talk control, and whether another app is using the phone microphone. Q: Why is there a delay before my voice plays from the camera? A: A short delay is normal because audio travels through the network. Longer delays can occur with weak Wi-Fi, mobile-data limits, or busy network activity. Q: Should I keep holding the Talk button while speaking? A: Yes. Many camera apps use push-to-talk, so release the button only after you finish your message. Q: Why is audio playing through my earbuds instead of the phone? A: Bluetooth may be routing audio to a connected device. Disable Bluetooth briefly to confirm the output path. Q: Can shared access affect two-way audio controls? A: Yes. Available controls can vary depending on the sharing permissions assigned to that account. [/faq]
